Karen Caines - CV

I am a passionate, ideas led, award-winning creative, with over 12 years experience in Art Direction, Graphic Design, and Film Editing.

From concept to creation, I have worked on ad campaigns, photo shoots (in both Art Director and Photographer roles), branding and identities, direct marketing, branding communications and corporate literature, digital online ads (including mobile and tablet formats), film editing for TV ads and short films, direction of VO's and sound dubs, and have just recently added motion graphics to my skill set. I am hungry for design, and am always up for a challenge. I quite literally live, sleep and breathe creativity.

Recommendations

"Karen was my right-hand creative at Orchestra – a true friend and partner in many creative adventures, from clambering up mountains on Andalucian photo-shoots to spotting a great campaign idea from the slush pile ... Karen's a great person to work with, has a very professional attitude and a keen eye for detail. I'd always give ideas the Karen-test first. If she liked them, they got worked on. If she didn't, they got worked on until she did."
Robert Crampton, Creative Director and Partner, Orchestra

"Working with Karen is like opening a window on a warm day - she breathes fresh air into any creative brief and has an uncanny ability to to see things differently (in a good way). She is truly media neutral, happy both on or offline, filming or editing. A delight to manage and an inspiration to work with."
Daniel Hurrell, Head of Art, Orchestra

"Karen has shown considerable flair and imagination in designing concert programmes for the Orchestra of which I am the Musical Director. Her eye for detail and overall vision is exceptional, and her designs have drawn deserved praise from other organisations, including one in Canada."
Miles Harwood, The Roding Players Orchestra (freelance work)

"Karen is known to me as a student on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design Programme at the University of Derby. During her time there Karen was a diligent and hard working student, her approach to research and development has always been strong. Conceptually adept Karen is a strong candidate. I recommend her to you."
Tracy Allanson-Smith, Lecturer, University of Derby
